Equipment Engineering Management Department is a comprehensive
management department of Equipment Engineering Business Department,researching,
drawing up and implementing business operation and development
strategies for the Engineering Business Department; compiling
annual operation plan, budget and managing fixed asserts, current
asserts and expenditure; setting up and carrying out management
system and quality management system, promoting technical innovation
and and informationalization; analyzing client credit; handling
business risk and creditor's right and debt; applying for and
reviewing yearly the business operation qualification specially
for the said department, coordinating with Chamber of Commerce,
associations and governmental departments concerned; obtaining
import and export licenses for mechanical and electrical products
(to enjoy highly efficient and fast green channel service);
handling complete sets of equipment and technical importing
contract coming into force and imported equipment exempting
from duty.
Baosteel No.1
Engineering Department
Subordinated to Equipment Engineering Business Department,
Baosteel No.1 Engineering Department mainly handles import and
procurement business of complete sets of equipment and technology
for Bao Shan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. Signing and implementing
the contract for new and technical revamping projects and acquiring
minor items of fixed assets, they have accumulated rich experiences
of negotiation and execution of contract. They have ever made
outstanding contribution to 1580 hot continuous rolling mill
which put into operation on Dec. 23rd, 1996 and to the steam
combined cycle generator, the first one using blast furnace
gas only as the fuel, which put into operation on November 25th,
1997.
Baosteel No.2
Engineering Department
Subordinated to Equipment Engineering Business Department,
Baosteel No. 2 Engineering Department mainly handles import
and procurement business of mechanical and electrical equipment
and technology outside of Bao Shan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd,
but still within Baosteel Group and in the society. Having rich
experience in negotiation and contract execution, they have
been acted as an agent for Baoteel Group Shanghai No.1 Stainless
Steel Project (investment of 11 billion RMB), Shanghai No.2
Steel Wire Production Line Project and Heat Treatment Project
of Pu Dong Steel Company, in charge of signing and executing
the contract of importing complete sets of equipment. They have
also signed and executed the commercial contract of importing
complete sets of equipment for Jing Bo Bao Xin Stainless Steel
Phase I and IIProjects and importing individual equipment for
Yan Tai Lu Bao Non-ferrous Metal Company, etc.
Spare Parts Trading
Division
The Spare Parts Trading Division is the trading unit engaging
mainly in the spare parts business, improving repair business,
import/export business of movable machinery and the domestic
trading business. Undertaking the abroad purchasing of the mechanical
and electrical products such as the equipment, spare parts and
movable machinery etc. involved in the improving repair and
maintenance. Acting as an agent to accept the import/export
business of the spare parts required by Baosteel Group and the
other member units. Exploring the import and domestic trading
business on a big scale and in a professional manner of the
spare parts and the mechanical/electrical product by the social
enterprises. Up till now the steady supply network has been
preliminarily set up and the fast, effective and mature spare
parts distribution system has basically come into being by obtaining
the exclusive authority of agency and the distributor qualification
for some internationally renowned brands of mechanical/electrical
products such as TIMKEN, TORRINGTON, SKF and NSK, LG, Fujiton
Motor etc.
Equipment &
Engineering Trade Division
The Equipment & Engineering Trade Division is a unit under
the Equipment & Engineering Business Department, responsible
for exploring the mechanical/electrical equipment trade, engineering
project and foreign economic & technological cooperation
business outside of Baosteel Group. Responsible for the import/export
trade and technical trade of the complete set of equipment for
the social enterprises other than for Baosteel Group. Organizing
and receiving and managing the different types of engineering
projects from the international organization, governmental organs,
enterprises and institutions as well as the private owners.
Dispatching different professions of personnel experienced in
the engineering technology, engineering consultation as well
as of labor power. Expanding the export trade and multi-national
trade of the spare parts, consumable material and the like mechanical/electrical
products. This unit is of strong industrial organization functions
which are manifested by the following important and big-scale
construction projects such as the trestle work of Shanghai Eastern
Pearl, Yangpu Bridge, Pudong air port etc. of which the steel
structures were all supplied through Baosteel International
by means of engineering contracting or commercial integration.
Up to the moment, the Company has established the solid strategic
partnership with dozens of the best equipment manufacturers
in China, its business has spread over 20-odd countries.
Material Trading
Division
As a unit dealing in the material trade within and without
Baosteel Group under the Equipment & Engineering Business
Department, the Material Trading Division is acting as the purchasing
agency for the imported material required by Baoshan Iron &
Steel Company Ltd. for use in its production, maintenance and
repair, basic construction, and as an agency for import/export
business of the material by the other member units in the Group
as well. The Material Trading Division deals in a wide-range
varieties of material, and what is more, it has set up a friendly
and trustworthy cooperation relations with many a company and
enterprise home and abroad, for instance, Mobil, Shell, BP and
so on, all these contribute to the provision of the super-quality
commodity and the excellent service to the customers in so many
related fields. Now the refractory material and after-forge
coke and so on products the Division is dealing in has been
sold as far as to Japan, South Korea, Taiwan etc. countries
and regions.
Tendering Company
(Tendering Office)
The Tendering Company (Tendering Office) is a unit under the
Equipment & Engineering Business Department, responsible
for the different kinds of tendering businesses as the international
tendering for mechanical/electrical product, tendering for technical
revamping project, tendering for government procurement, tendering
for construction and engineering projects etc.. Upon approval
by National Foreign Economy & Trade Ministry, the Company
was granted of the Class B qualification of international tendering
for mechanical/electrical products in April of 2000. Later in
August of 2001, the Company was honored with the Class A qualification
of tendering for the technical revamping project. And in April
of 2001, it obtained the agency qualification for government
procurement by the Central Units and the intermediary factorage
qualification for tendering on government procurement by Shanghai
Municipal Government. Last year, the tendering amount totaled
up to 210 million USD, accounting for 40% of total tendering
business volume in Shanghai on the mechanical/electrical equipment,
ranked as the first place in Shanghai. Baosteel International
has accumulated the rich experience after tendering practice
in so many projects. There has never, ever even one complaint
arisen in the process of operation of all the projects.
Translation Company
The Translation Company is a unit subordinate to Baosteel
International, providing the translation service to the member
units of Baosteel Group and each department of the Baosteel
Iron & Steel Company Ltd. as well as to the social enterprises.
The Company has been established for more than 20 years, boasting
a translation team of rich experience, in which there are 50-plus
intermediate and senior translators, capable of providing the
oral and written translation as well as the simultaneous translation
service in Japanese, English, Germany, French etc. languages,
particularly skilled in the translations concerning the metallurgical
industry from negotiation, technical exchange, design review
through to construction and installation on site, equipment
commissioning, test-run as well as the production guidance and
so on comprehensive, cover-all translation service activities.
It has successfully provided the high-quality translation service
to the construction and production in such projects as the large-scale
introduction engineering projects for No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3
stage of Baosteel construction, Shanghai Valkswagen Automotive
Works, Shidongkou Shanghai Huaneng Power Plant and Shanghai
Pudong International Airport etc.
